What does your pension statement show you?

  • Your personal details
Your details as known to us on 31 December.

  • Your partner
If you have a partner, his or her details will also appear on the statement. Check these details carefully to ensure they are correct.
  • Your pension details
The basic details for your pension. For example, the income on which you are accruing pension benefits.

  • How much pension can you expect?
    - When you retire
    - If you become incapacitated for work
    - If you die, for any partner and/or children you have
Read more about the dependant’s pension here

  • How secure is your pension?
The amount of your pension is not fixed. This year we have calculated the expected pension for 2,000 possible situations, as devised by economists. The interest rate may be high or low. The investments may exceed or fall short of expectations. And prices may or may not rise. We have calculated how much your pension will be in every situation.

Your statement shows you what pension you would receive in ‘anticipated weather’ (as things are now), in ‘fair weather’ (if things go well economically) and in ‘poor weather’ (if things go worse than expected economically).

  • How much in contributions and how much paid in costs?
The statement shows you how much your employer has paid in contributions. This depends on your age and the scheme in which you are accruing pension benefits.
StiPP also incurs costs for the administration and management of your pension. You can read more about this in Pension 1-2-3.
