The eight-week waiting period will expire on 1 July 2023

This year there will be a change in StiPP's pension scheme. Currently, as an employee, you start accruing pension after having worked for the same employer for eight weeks. This waiting period will expire on 1 July 2023. This means that you accrue pension immediately from your first working day.

This change is still subject to change. The Bill has yet to be approved by the Senate. Do they agree? Then the change is expected to take effect on July 1, 2023. We will keep you informed.

What does this mean for you?

• Are you already participating in the Basic Scheme or Plus scheme of StiPP? Then nothing will change for you.
• Do you work in the temporary employment sector, but have you worked less than eight weeks on 1 July 2023? Then you will start accruing pension in the Basic Scheme on 1 July 2023. From that moment on, the waiting period expires.
• Are you going to be employed and will you return to the temporary employment or secondment industry in a while? Then you immediately start building up pension again in the pension scheme.
