Your ex-partner dies before his/her retirement

A dependant’s pension is purchased with the pension capital your partner has accrued.

Your partner dies after his/her retirement

On their retirement date your partner and you together decide whether to include a dependant’s pension for you. You will receive this pension after the death of your partner for the rest of your life.

Please note: If you and your partner decide to buy retirement pension only, you will not receive any partner's pension if your partner dies.

When must you notify StiPP of the death?

StiPP will contact you. The municipality will automatically notify StiPP of the death. You do not have to do anything.

  • If your ex-partner was living abroad when he/she died
