Your ex-partner dies before his/her retirement

A dependant’s pension is purchased with the pension capital your ex-partner has accrued until 1 January 2026.
If your ex-partner dies before retirement and the pension capital is not accrued before 1 January 2026, then you don’t receive a dependant’s pension.

Your partner dies after his/her retirement

On their retirement date your partner and you together decide whether to include a dependant’s pension for you. You will receive this pension after the death of your partner for the rest of your life.

Please note: If you and your partner decide to buy retirement pension only, you will not receive any partner's pension if your partner dies.

How much will you receive?

Shortly before we pay your pension, you will receive a payment notice from us showing the amount you will be receiving. Tax will be deducted from the pension.

Lump sum or monthly payment?
If the dependant’s pension is less than €632,63 per year (2026), StiPP will pay you the amount as a lump sum. If it is higher, you will receive an amount each month for the rest of your life.
