The Netherlands is switching to a new pension system. We will also change our pension scheme as of 1 January 2026. We want your pension to remain the same as much as possible in the new scheme. That is why everyone receives a one-off extra amount from us (allocation). So do you. Are you 59 years or older? Then you may be entitled to yet another additional amount: compensation.
On this page you can read who will receive compensation, how much and when.
Please note: The money for the compensation comes from our fund assets. This is therefore only possible if the financial situation of our fund assets is good enough on 1 January 2026.
Will you receive compensation?
You will receive compensation if your expected pension capital decreases in the new scheme. This applies in two situations:
- On 1 January 2026, you will be 59 years of age or older and you will accrue pension with us
- On 1 January 2026, you will be 60 years of age or older, you will be incapacitated for work and we will pay your pension contribution
How much compensation do you get?
In October you will receive a message from us with an initial calculation. Here you can read whether you will receive compensation and how high it is expected. You will receive a message with the final calculation in mid-2026.
At what point do you get your compensation?
In mid-2026, we will add the compensation to your pension capital in one go. You will be notified about this later. You will then see that your pension capital increases.
Please note: We work retroactively. This means that you are entitled to compensation from 1 January 2026. But you won't see it until mid-2026 on My Stipp Pension. This is because we first need all the information from your employer to be able to make a correct calculation.
What if your situation changes in 2025?
Do you want to retire before the new pension scheme takes effect? Or do you stop working as a temporary worker or secondee? Or does something else change in your situation? Then this may have consequences for whether or not you will receive compensation as of January 1, 2026. Read more about this on the page 'Will your situation change before 1 January 2026? This is what it does to your pension'.
