The Netherlands will have a new pension system. StiPP will also have a new pension scheme. You will switch to this new scheme on 1 January 2026. Are you accruing pension with StiPP, are you incapacitated for work and does StiPP pay (part of) the premium? Then read the answers to frequently asked questions about disability in the new pension scheme.
Will I accrue pension in the new scheme?
Yes. If you accrue pension with StiPP now, you will also accrue pension with StiPP in the new pension scheme. The amount of pension accrual will change.
How much pension will I accrue in the new scheme?
In the new pension scheme, 20% of your pension base will be deposited for your pension. In your case, StiPP will continue to pay (part of) the pension premium. This will remain the case.
Who pays the premium?
If you are incapacitated for work, StiPP will continue to pay (part of) the pension premium. We call this
non-contributory pension accrual. This only applies if you have received confirmation from StiPP. For the part that you work, you pay pension contributions together with your employer. This pension contribution is 23.4% of the pension base.
When will the non-contributory pension accrual in the new scheme stop?
This is no different from the current scheme. The (partial) payment of your pension contribution stops:
- if you are no longer at least 35% incapacitated for work
- or if you have reached the state pension age
- or if you die earlier
Will I receive a one-off amount with my pension during the transition to the new pension scheme?
Yes, we expect everyone to receive
a one-off extra amount when they transition to the new scheme. So do you, which will increase your pension capital.
Were you older than 60 on your first WIA day? Then you will probably receive not once, but twice an extra amount with your pension capital when you transition to the new pension scheme. We call this second amount compensation. You will then receive compensation because we expect you to accrue less pension in the new scheme than in the current scheme. The compensation comes from our fund assets. This is therefore only possible if our financial situation is good enough on 1 January 2026.
When will I receive this one-time amount?
In October or November 2025, you will receive a first calculation of your pension in the new scheme from us, including the one-off amount and any compensation. You will receive a final calculation in June 2026. After this, StiPP will add the final
one-off amount and any
compensation to your pension capital.
Can I continue to follow my pension?
Yes, you can do that via
My StiPP Pension. You can see the amount of your pension capital on this personal page.
